Circularity
An Exhibition Exploring Material Cycles and Sustainable Architecture. An innovative exhibition exploring circular material economies and green architecture presented by RMIT University in partnership with Swedish electric performance car brand, Polestar, and Green Magazine
INVERT - MINI Living
INVERT 1.0 / Inspired by evolving global and local conversations around urban density and multi-residential development, this exhibition explored what it means to create meaningful, sustainable living environments in the heart of Melbourne.
INVERT 2.0 / A selection of established and emerging Australian architects were invited to respond to a brief reimagining a city block beside Melbourne’s Queen Victoria Market as a hypothetical urban village. This envisioned village integrates residential, community, commercial, and green spaces. In a return to architectural tradition, each architect presented their vision for the site through hand-drawn illustrations.
INVERT 3.0 / The third iteration of this architecture-led collaboration, INVERT 3.0 continued to challenge conventional ideas of how and where we live. This year’s exhibition explored the potential of Melbourne’s laneways. In the face of a steadily growing population, laneways present unique opportunities for adaptive reuse, intergenerational and communal living, and sustainable mobility.
INVERT 4.0 / Established and emerging Australian architects were invited to respond to a hypothetical brief: to design an independent dwelling on a subdivided parcel of land within suburban Melbourne. Each participant created a 1:20 scale model of their proposed design, offering diverse interpretations of infill housing and suburban adaptation.
